aerobd.news :  Delta has completed installation of wi-fi on its entire long-haul international fleet, making it the only US airline to offer wi-fi on all long-haul international flights. This milestone also means that Delta operates one of the world’s largest wi-fi equipped fleets, with more than 1,100 aircraft operating more than 3,500 connected flights every day, including nearly 700 domestic mainline aircraft, more than 180 international wide-body aircraft and nearly all Delta Connection two-class regional jets.

International wi-fi installation included Delta’s Boeing 747, 777, 767, international 757-200 and Airbus A330 fleets. More than 400,000 Delta customers per day have access to in-flight wi-fi. The wi-fi systems are powered by Gogo’s high-speed Ku-Band satellite technology. Delta began installing wi-fi on its domestic aircraft in 2008 and its international aircraft in 2012.

“We’ve invested billions of dollars in making our customers feel more at home in the sky through comfort, connectivity and entertainment,” said Joe Kiely, Delta’s managing director, product and customer experience. “Completion of international wi-fi installation means our customers are more connected than ever when flying to the more than 50 countries we serve around the world.”
