Guests of MAKS 2021 to witness an intense daily flight program
aerobd.news : During the period from July 21 to 25, guests of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2021 will witness an intense demonstration program that involves the presentation of the newest civil and combat aircraft and helicopters, experimental and veteran vehicles, as well as performances by air display teams.
According to the decision of Aviasalon JSC, the organizer of MAKS 2021, the flight program has been significantly unified, which will give the guests an opportunity to enjoy the extensive and exciting demonstration of aviation equipment and pilotage skills during the period from Wednesday to Sunday. The expected duration of demonstration programs on any of the open days is at least three hours. In total, the flight program will include solo and formation flying with the use of approximately 80 aircraft.
“We prepare a flight schedule in view of the need to create comfortable conditions for conducting conferences, presentations and negotiations,” Roman Fedorov, the Head of the Service Responsible for the Organization of Demonstration Program, Static Display and Airport Services at Aviasalon JSC, said. “So, until 1 p.m., we have scheduled flights performed by light aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles. Helicopters will be demonstrated from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and heavy jets will perform their flights after 3 p.m.”
For the first time, Sarang (which translates as “peacock” from Sanskrit), the air display team from the Indian Military Air Forces, will become one of the guests at MAKS, and their show will beautify the sky over Zhukovsky. Since 2004, it has been conducting flights using four domestically produced Dhruv helicopters. The aircraft are painted in bright colors and demonstrate the stylized peacock figure. The group performance will include advanced flying, spectacularity of which is emphasized by smoke generators.
Such aerobatic demonstrator teams from the Russian Aerospace Forces as “The Russian Knights”, “The Swifts”, “The Russian Falcons”, and “The Berkuts”, as well as “The First Flight” air display team will take part in the demonstration program. Svetlana Kapanina, a seven-time world individual all-around champion in air sports, will demonstrate her expertise as part of her solo performance. The Gliding Federation will demonstrate solo flying by the Russian, European and world champions in glider aerobatics.
For the first time, MAKS 2021 will host a contest of unmanned aerial systems operation as part of the All-Russian “Personnel for Digital Industry” contest.
Unfortunately, for technical and organizational reasons, the long-time partners of MAKS 2021, “Russ” and Baltic Bees Jet Team aerobatic teams, cannot participate in the MAKS 2021 demonstration program. However, the pilots from these groups are planning to visit the exhibition and will be glad to meet their fans in person.

Airbus has scheduled the presentation of A350-1000 aircraft that will arrive to MAKS for the first time. Helicopter construction companies will present their innovations, including Mi-28NM attack helicopter, the latest Ka-62 medium-range versatile helicopter and BAS-200 unmanned helicopter-type aerial vehicle as part of the flight program at the Aviation Salon.
