Lufthansa commences Dubai-Munich route with modern, environmentally friendly Airbus A350-900 aircraft

aerobd.news : Today, at 6:40 am, Lufthansa flight LH638 arrived at Dubai International Airport, commencing the airline’s new connection between Munich and Dubai. The return flight LH639 will depart Dubai three times a week at 8:30am, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Munich at 12.50pm the same day (local times). The new route is operated by an Airbus A350-900, which is one of the world’s most modern and environmentally friendly aircraft, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to sustainability.

“The UAE has always been important for the Lufthansa Group and we are proud to have successfully launched this new route just in time for the start of the Expo.With the introduction of this new connection, we have doubled our capacity on routes to the UAE compared to pre-crisis levels.Furthermore, we are expecting an overall increase in demand this winter, especially to the holiday destinations in the Alps, the US, and Canada, therefore, we will be offering 85,000 additional seats on board Lufthansa Group flights,”said Serkan Guerguen, Senior Director Sales MENAT Lufthansa Group Airlines.

“We are delighted to welcome Lufthansa’s inaugural service from the great city of Munich. Germany is among the top ten country markets for Dubai International with 2.6 million in passenger traffic in 2019 and the launch of this new service will enable further growth by boosting connectivity and adding timely capacity between the two destinations,” said Jamal Al Hai, Deputy CEO of Dubai Airports.

In regards to the new route, Holger Mahnicke, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany Dubai said, “The new Lufthansa direct flights between Dubai and Munich are important for connecting the people of our two countries. This also sends a strong signal at the start of the EXPO 2020.”

This new Lufthansa connection in Dubai will complement the existing daily flights to Frankfurt as well as the daily SWISS flights from Dubai to Zurich in the winter. Munich is an important Lufthansa hub offering a large choice of onward connections. Furthermore, all passengers travelling to Munich will access Europe’s only 5-Star terminal, awarded by Skytrax. The Bavarian capital in the South of Germany is a very popular destination for both leisure and corporate travellers. On board the Airbus A350-900, passengers will be able to choose from 293 seats in Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class. This aircraft not only offers customers a top product on board, it is also very environmentally friendly, efficient and quiet. Thanks to advanced engines, ultramodern materials and an aerodynamic design, it uses 25 per cent less aircraft fuel and produces a noise footprint that is up to 50 percent smaller than that of comparable aircraft types.

On occasion of the new route, Lufthansa is offering special introductory fares for tickets from Dubai to Europe. Customers can book special round trip ticket fares now until 20 October for travel dates between 06 October 2021 and 25 March, 2022. The promotional prices will start as low as AED 1,715 in Economy Class, AED 2,975 in Premium Economy and AED 7,375 in Business Class and can booked via all travel agencies, at Lufthansa.com or at SWISS.com.

New route starting 01 October 2021 until 23 April 2022 (all times local) :
• LH 638 departure Munich on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 10:30 p.m., arrival at Dubai at 06:40 a.m.the following day
• LH 639 departure Dubai on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays at 8:30 a.m., same day arrival Munich at 12:50 p.m.
