A Biman Bangladesh Airlines Boeing 737-800 (S2-AFM) operating flight BG 388 from Dhaka to Bangkok was forced to return to Dhaka today due to a possible cabin pressurization issue. The flight, which departed from Dhaka’s runway 14 at 12:03 PM, encountered pressurization problems while cruising at 25,000 feet over Myanmar near the city of Ann at approximately 12:46 PM.
As a result of the issue, oxygen masks deployed from the overhead compartments, prompting the flight crew to initiate an emergency descent to 10,000 feet. Prioritizing passenger safety, the crew made the critical decision to turn back to Dhaka, where the aircraft safely landed at 01:57 PM.
Following the safe landing, all passengers were promptly taken to the terminal, where they received assistance from the airline. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has swiftly arranged for another aircraft to transport the affected passengers to Bangkok, minimizing disruption to their travel plans.

The pilots and cabin crew remained calm under pressure, ensuring that all travelers were comfortable and able to breathe easily during the return journey. Their exemplary handling of the situation helped avoid any injuries or panic, demonstrating their dedication to passenger safety.
The aviation community and passengers alike have commended the crew for their quick thinking and skilled execution of the emergency landing. Their actions ensured that the aircraft returned safely to base without harm to anyone onboard.
