e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Dec 26, 2014 : Customs intelligence and investigation directorate officials yesterday seized five sacks of foreign and Bangladeshi currencies and 528 pieces of gold bars from a residence of Purana Paltan area here yesterday evening. One Mohammad Ali, 50, was arrested in this connection, director general of the directorate Mainul Khan told e-News®.

On a tip-off, a team of the intelligence force along with the Detective Branch (DB) of police raided the house and seized the currencies and gold bars. Mainul said the foreign currencies included Riyal, Dirham and Dollar. Besides, the weight the gold bar is 61 kilograms worth about Taka 30 crore, he added.
