Bangladesh Air Force deploys UN contingents in Haiti
e-News® | The NEWS Company…DHAKA, Sept 6, 2015 : Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) is going to deploy a contingent comprising 110 BAF members and three MI-17 helicopters at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). A total of 100 BAF members of this contingent left Dhaka today for Haiti by UN chartered aircraft. The contingent of Bangladesh Air Force is led by Group Captain Md Shaharul Huda.
It is expected that BAF will achieve confidence and respect of Haiti Government and general public by discharging their duties in mitigating conflict with efficiency, professionalism and sincerity. Prior to their departure for Haiti, special munajat was offered seeking excellence of the contingents at the departure lounge of Hazrat Shahjahal International Airport (HSIA). Senior Air Force officials were present at the airport to see them off. A 10-member advanced team of the contingent has already been deployed in Haiti on August 18. Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Abu Esrar briefed the contingent members at BAF Base Bashar on September 2.
