The Cosmonaut Training Centre will present an IL-76MDK laboratory aircraft at MAKS
aerobd.news : The Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre (CTC) has formed a large-scale program of participation in the International Aviation and Space Salon. In particular, the L-39 training aircraft, the AS-350B3E Eurocopter and the IL-76MDK Laboratory aircraft, which will host an exposition dedicated to special types of cosmonaut training, will be demonstrated.
The IL-76MDK laboratory aircraft will appear before the visitors of the exhibition as a showroom, where the “Orlan” and “Falcon KV-2” spacesuits, a model of the exit hatch and the astronaut portable emergency kit will be shown. Video monitors placed inside the cockpit will be used to broadcast video clips about cosmonaut training programs, work at the international space station and in outer space. The static exhibition will feature a tent with theoretical and practical classes on Sokol KV-2 spacesuits. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with their design, try on the spacesuit and take a photo.
MAKS-2019 will feature a number of presentations and a press conference of the CPC management. During the public visit, there will be meetings with cosmonauts and leading specialists of the Centre. They will talk about the capabilities and services of the Cosmonaut Training Center, scientific experiments and applied research in space, the prospects of space exploration. There will also be a presentation of the open enrollment in the cosmonaut squad and interactive psychological testing of applicants, after which one can get a report on testing results.

The Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center carries out work to maintain manned space programs, research and development work in the field of space exploration and space technology development, training of cosmonauts, ensuring the safe stay of cosmonauts in orbit, rehabilitation of cosmonauts after space flights.
The IL-76MDK laboratory aircraft is used for fundamental research, testing and scientific experiments in conditions of short-term weightlessness, lunar and Martian gravity.
International aviation and space salon MAKS-2019 will be held in Zhukovsky, Moscow region, between the 27th of August and the 1st of September, 2019, according to the Government Decree №2403-p of 30.10.2017 and the order of the Government of Russian Federation №2523-р of 20.11.2018. Ministry of Industry and Trade and the State Corporation for assistance in development, production and export of high-tech industrial produce “Rostec” have been appointed as event organizers. MAKS-2019 is hosted by the Aviasalon JSC.
