Fuel Cells and Refuelling Bottles – The Latest Generation Products from ATL

unnamed (1)

aerobd.news : Aero Tec Laboratories is committed to the continual development of Fuel Cell and Fuel system technology. With over 100 propriety materials for use across the Motorsport, Automotive, Defence, Subsea and Aerospace industries, ATL have unrivalled capabilities.

In the Motorsport arena, an unprecedented number of materials, over 10 material types in fact, are homologated to exceed FIA standards. Innovative use of these and further materials ensures safety and performance are second to none.

Development inside Fuel Cells continues to at a rapid pace, with ultra-lightweight internal equipment, and materials, used on a regular basis. A newly designed carbon-fibre trapdoor being just one such example.

Aerospace

Such is the reputation of High Technology capabilities originating from motorsport, ATL continues to expand in other markets through its implementation. A prolific exporter for many years now, ATL is developing a new super-strong and lightweight material for use in Aerospace applications. The new material is currently undergoing qualification with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for a significant civil aviation project, with qualification expected to be complete in 2017.

Technology Investment

Less than 12 months ago, ATL also increased manufacturing capabilities through investment in new moulding technology, allowing for the cost effective manufacture of custom shaped Saver Cells. The Saver Cell range, such is their popularity, can be seen in almost every Motorsport paddock across the world. Now, custom Saver Cells are not only inexpensive, but are economically viable even on small to medium batch runs.

Within just months of the new machinery coming on line, custom Savers Cells could be seen in racing cars across the world, and ATL welcomes the opportunity to show interested parties how they too can benefit.

Importantly, capacity has increased and lead times have been significantly reduced, easing the seasonal pressures associated with motorsport.

To add to this success, ATL are developing new proprietary blends of material for moulded Motorsport Fuel Cell manufacture, with weight savings to be expected. Keep a close eye on ATL to find out more in the near future.

Bottle Redesign

unnamedATL refuelling bottles are used in an array of championships worldwide, with the ever popular ATL FIA Dry Break Refuelling Valve delivering super-fast refuelling times. There are bottle assemblies available to suit all applications, including both the 2” and 1.5” valves, single or double valves, and refuelling from one or two sides of a race car.

During the summer months, ATL undertook a redesign that will see a significant reduction in the price of most refuelling bottle assemblies.

Price has not been the only focus of the redesign, with the addition of new features and handles to improve manoeuvrability when primed for use.

Details and prices of the new bottles will be released soon, and it is planned to demonstrate one of the new assemblies at PMW 2016.
