New sensor fusion hardware for autonomous military vehicles revealed

aerobd.news : As the US Army seeks to modernize its methods by developing autonomous solutions for the battlefield, finding the hardware tough enough to survive the rigors of war is essential. Crystal Group, a manufacturer of rugged computer and electronic hardware, has revealed its sensor fusion hardware and field-tested network solutions at a recent AUSA Army Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence expo in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

The company demonstrated its RACE0161, a high-performance, rugged embedded autonomous vehicle computer that harnesses modern commercial off-the-shelf components stabilized in a tough, compact enclosure to streamline and speed the development and deployment of safe, robust and reliable autonomous and unmanned vehicles and systems. “We work closely with the Army and its contractors to develop the highest performing, most reliable rugged computer and network hardware for the tactical edge. This collaboration has resulted in deployment of our solutions on over 500 military programs, including IBCS, Prophet Enhanced System, EMARSS, WIN-T, and more,” said Robert Haag, vice president of sales and marketing, Crystal Group.

“Our latest autonomous solution provides field tested operational advantages to the warfighter in real time. This rugged server has been meticulously engineered to process massive amounts of data with unprecedented power and thermal management, reducing soldier risk and providing cybersecurity protection for critical systems.”
